Modern Weekend was a proposed clothing label, themed on the fact that the weekend as we know it was invented in Manchester, by a local warehouse clerk by the name of Robert Lowes, some time around 1843.

The designs are a homage to the hedonism of the weekend, with particular references to Manchester, its music, rave culture, football casual fashion and popular culture in general. The Factory Records logo is depicted as an actual factory with Lowry-esque stick figures spilling out for the weekend, corporate logos are re-purposed and iconic music artwork is remixed in the proposed designs, many of which utilise the initials M and W to make striking graphic symbols .
